Great For:

Personal Stories, Performances, Business Pitches

Learn how to take a meaningful story of significance for you and craft it to share with a wider audience, similar to stories from the popular show, The Moth.  This includes discovery of which stories to tell, storytelling techniques such as how to add emotion and details, and where to start and end.  The focus is on writing a personal story for the purposes of captivating and inspiring your audience.

Length: 2 - 3 hours

Power

Presentations

Great For:

Business Presentations, TED Talks, PowerPoint Slides

Learn how to make your presentations more engaging and powerful.  The days of PowerPoint bullet points are numbered, and in this age of limited attention spans it's important to add stories, emotions, and passion to your business presentations.  The focus is on taking facts and figures that aren't memorable and converting them into stories that listeners will want to hear and share.

Length: 1.5 - 2 hours

Imaginative Storytelling

Great For:

Schools, Fun Events, Community Events, Connecting

Inventing stories can be a lot of fun, and in this playful workshop we will use our imaginations to fabricate tall tales and wondrous journeys of inanimate objects. Various exercises will help participants find their child-like sense of wonder to bring to our stories.  Drawing on activities from improv comedy and physical theatre, we’ll enter a world together where anything is possible.

Length: 1.5 - 2 hours

Great For:

Seniors, Youth, Events, Entertainment, Retreats

Folktales have much to teach us, and many are thousands of years old.  I have a repertoire of folktales from around the world, as well as personal stories and poems, to entertain and delight listeners.  This workshop is mostly for entertainment and appreciation of the art of storytelling, and includes a sharing circle where listeners can relate the lessons to their own lives and share with the group.

Length: 1 - 1.5 hours

Great For:

Presentations, Public Speaking, Performing, Beginners

Standing up in front of a room of people can be daunting. We’ll focus on presentation skills such as body language, gestures, tone of voice, and speed.  For those who are not accustomed to public speaking, this can be confronting, but are valuable life skills in self-expression that can be used in many capacities, including giving presentations, interviews, teaching, and pitching business ideas.

Length: 1.5 - 2 hours

Workshops can be created to specific needs.
